Spring
• Beware of the delayed ice of the season. Continue to protect the most sensitive plants.
• You can help the plants now that they will come out of the "lethargy" of winter, with some fertilization at the end of each month.
• Beware of coniferous fungal infections, you may need to do preventive spraying with appropriate fungicides.
• Fruit trees will need spraying. Do you prefer organic preparations such as copper, etc.
• Sprinkle your vine (April) for downy mildew.
• Clean and weed your garden.
• Prune from March onwards for evergreen plants to have a vibrant shoot. Continue (May) to trim the curbs and hedges to give new vegetation.
• Increase the watering time, depending on the weather conditions. Check the automatic irrigation watering for any damage that would come from the winter that was inactive.
• It is the right time to plant vegetables, onions and potatoes for summer harvest, and flowers such as petunias - marigolds, etc
Summer
• Watering early in the morning or evening
• Spray the vegetable garden with organic preparations and you can do one last fertilization with crystalline or organic fertilizers, optionally in June.
• In June, check the conifers again, sprays may be needed.
• Mow the lawn more often (every 10 days or so), increase watering and apply fertilizer for the last time in June.
Take care of your vegetable garden, especially now that the plants have grown, and support the tomatoes and beans with reeds (bamboo).
• Clean the blooming rose flowers
• In July, the propagation period begins with grafting on fruit trees
• Be careful in August when you go on vacation, check the watering in the pots and adjust it accordingly. Fruits need less water so that the fruits do not open. Take care of indoor plants so that they do not get thirsty and have daylight.
Autumn
• The secret to a beautiful garden is the balance of colors throughout the year.
• Optional fertilization, end of September and mid-November.
• Optional spraying at the end of October on some categories of plants.
• Pomegranates, almonds, walnuts and apples ripen in October. While in November and after, the oranges, tangerines, frappe, bergamot, etc. ripen.
Winter
• Group all the trees and plants that bloom or bear fruit throughout the year.
• Protect sensitive plants from the cold.
• End of February needs basic fertilization. We can spray with copper oxychloride, except for plants that have flowers.
End of February - beginning of March we prune all the deciduous trees, shrubs and roses, as well as our fruit trees and vines (vineyard)
• It is the time of planting the fruit trees and the rose in the bare root form as well as the vine cuttings.
• We plant bulbs that will bloom in early summer and for the whole summer, but also the spring ones.
• Watering time is zero or very sparse, depending on the temperature. Water early in the morning, avoiding the evening hours due to the evening cold.
